You shall therefore lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, that your days and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land that the Lord swore to your fathers to give them, as long as the heavens are above the earth. (Deuteronomy 11:18-21)
Our discipleship of children is a ministry that we take very seriously. We address this ministry on three fronts:
- Through the parents and family unit.
- Through the intentional, focused, and regular attention of all church members (we are much like loving "aunts and uncles" toward the youth of others).
- Traditional youth Sunday school education.
Our goal is not only to teach our children about the things of God, but to develop in them habits and thought processes that lead to life-long growth and development in the Lord. These habits include daily bible reading, daily prayer, and learning to depend upon the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a deep and meaningful walk with him.
We have a number of ministries that are focused on our youth. These include (but are not limited to):
