But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, (1 Peter 3:15)
The Church at Chantilly is involved with several local outreach activities and ministries. The most important outreach activity among believers is simply building relationships with non-believers so that the Gospel can be shared. However, there are quite a few local outreach ministries available for those that wish to share their gifts with others. Those that we are actively involved with include (but not limited to):
- Sunday night preaching at Friendship Mission, a shelter for the homeless.
- A local Korean church plant effort in East Montgomery (Montgomery OKPCA). A multi-ethnic & multi-cultural reformed PCA church that is based on Korean ministry in Montgomery. This will be a church that preaches the true gospel and equips God’s people as disciples of Christ for: missions, serving others, planting new churches, and raising new generations (more information).
- Operation Christmas Child every fall, boxes usually collected in November.
- A number of our members are individually involved with local ministries. If you are involved with a ministry that is rooted in the spreading of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we encourage you to continue in that ministry. We would love to hear about it and add your efforts to our prayer list. Some of these ministries include Threads of Love, the River Region Pregnancy Center, Friendship Mission North for Women, and more.
NOTE: There are quite a few neighborhoods within a 15 minute drive of The Church at Chantilly (map), and it is our desire to begin ministering to those in these neighborhoods. At this time, however, we wait upon the leadership of the Lord in this.
